yes a longer lens was needed but I did not have it with me. I agree it is a bit soft....then again so was I, to be doing the shots in the weather I did!!

Nice pose of the bird, you were unlucky it is a bit on the soft side. I suspect it must be a bit dark also as even with ISO 400 there is a bit of noise still around. Or you might have done a fair bit of cropping due to the distance you caught this birdie. What lens did you use?
I did cropped it alot! sooo the noise is from that!
