Its a most appealing image. Apart from the features mentioned above I just love the twiggy undergrowth set against the snow in the lower part of the picture.

We have had a long period of very cold weather, and also recently lots of snow here in Trondheim. The forest floor in the image above is covered with more than 60 cm snow, so the twiggy undergrowth is apparently quite resilient.

That's beautiful. It takes me back to my winter in Norway - minus 20 degrees if I remember!

Thanks Rob! The first two weeks of the new year were especially cold here, with temperatures near 20 degrees celsius. Lovely cold weather best to be enjoyed looking out of the window of a well insulated house
