Birnbeck pier weston-super-mare

by caj26

This is the only pier in the world to be joined to an island,it is also one of the oldest in the country being built in 1887.
It's grade 2 listed.
The welsh would come over[from Cardiff] on a Sunday for an alcoholic drink or two at one of the two bars.
The only working building is the RNLI lifeboat crews building. They put in a safe walkway to cross to base for the 50 - 55 callouts they have a year.

A fascinating subject on my back door! You might straighten the horizon a bit! (My personal weakness: I can't hold a camera level, which will one day be a good excuse for buying a K5!)
Best wishes,

Andrew
