Golden hour evening sunlight, in early spring, bathes the hills above Merrivale and Walkhampton Common below. Snow dusts some of the higher ground in the distance.
Leedon Tor, Ingra Tor. King’s Tor, Pew Tor, Heckwood Tor and Vixen Tor can be seen in the near distance.
Cox Tor, Staple Tor, Great Mis Tor and Little Mis Tor lie in the far distance.
Location: lower slopes of Sharpitor, Dartmoor National Park, Devon.

I could see the opportunity for the light as I drove up to the moors and having made this photograph (I could see the clouds bundling together out west) hand-held I did quickly set up the tripod to try another exposure, but despite the foreground being still lit, the mid and distant ground had lost their golden tinges - such is the rapidity at times of transient light and how glad i was that the first exposure was a keeper!
