Great image, I like the layered effect from the flowers in the foreground to the clouds in the distance.

I'd have used landscape format - and made a complete mess of it! It works so well in portrait.

Andrew,

Should have entered this image in the D.O.F. Competition...

ISO 200, 1/80th. sec., at f ?, bright, sunny day?

All(?) = sufficient depth of field, from heather to clouds. And beyond!

Lovely.

Thanks for letting us see.

Nice shot Andrew. I like its colours, it has high DOF and good contrast. I like the shape of the clouds too.

Thanks everyone.

This is a wonderful place to visit, but hard to photograph becuase there's so few vertical elements. I did try a landscape format, Paul, but there was just too much to take in. This seemed to work better, just layering elements one on top of the other. It really only works here in Auguest/September when the heather's out. Otherwise it's all a bit green! The hills in the background are Exmoor.

Post 35mm and given a wide(ish) lens (this one was 28mm) I've never found DoF a problen because old lenses have distance markings for hyper-focal settings!
Best wishes,

Andrew

I also like the layering effect most in this, very impressive depth of field as mentioned above as well! Beautiful!
