Quietude

Quietude

Photo Information
“I am the lover of uncontained and immortal beauty. In the wilderness, I find something more dear and connate than in streets or villages. In the tranquil landscape, and especially in the distant line of the horizon, man beholds somewhat as beautiful as his own nature.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Golden hour light, clipping the edge of an approaching storm front to the west, bathes the slopes below Combestone Tor.

Looking towards Dartmeet (the confluence of the East & West Dart Rivers to form the River Dart). The slopes of Yartor Down, Sharp Tor can be seen in the middle distance, Combestone Wood lies in the immediate valley floor. Arch Tor, Merripit Hill, Broad Down and Stanton Tor can be seen towards the far distance in the North

Emerson is one of my favorite philosophers, and the quote works well here! Super shot, quite, gentle and shows how nature can sooth and inspire.
Pentax pour des images riches en détails!

Thanks for your encouraging comments took a quick break from rock climbing and by the time I got back to climb the light had gone flat as the storm front came over
