Mapledurham Mill revisited
by PeterKR
This shot was taken from the far bank of The Thames, probably around 100m away.
I like using this view as a makeshift 'lens test' as there is plenty of fine detail.
Look especially at what looks like a No 7 on the 2nd tree from the right. This is a broken 'PRIVATE' sign.
With most other lenses I have been able to make out the word PRIVATE.
However, with this DA18-135 at 100mm the original image at 100% reveals the full text as
'Mapledurham Estate STRICTLY PRIVATE'.
K50 + 18-135, hand held
This view is not quite as close as your test shot, David, but it is seen at the start of a lovely walk along The Thames Path so we go there whenever we can.
Thanks again
Peter

Slap in the middle of England
A lady several houses away has an upended 3inch gas pipe, complete with a screw-in stopper at the end (top) that she uses as a washing line post. I use the top of that to test telephoto lenses. So far, an elderly Soligor 250mm preset is winning.
