It's very interesting to study these Old Woods using microscopes or SEMs.....in special way those of old boats coming from Greek, Romans, Aegypt....A few Vegetal Pathologists are true specialists of this modern branch of science.Sorry for these boring cmt

Strange that I'm only seeing a darkened version of the photo until I enlarge it! The enlarged version is excellent!
