Striped Marigold
by GlynM
All images shot using a Pentax K-5 with the Samsung equivalent of the DFA100 Macro.
1/400sec, F4 & ISO800, tripod mounted with the flower stem anchored to a cane to prevent it moving around in today's very light breeze.
The focus stack was processed using CombineZP.

My not so new website
I was captured by the quality of these flowers which have really only come into their own this late in the season.
I had four attempts at focus stacking but this is the only one that worked and even them I had to resort to PSE to remove a slight echo at the back edges of the subject. I think all the others were spoilt by a slight movement of the the subject between shots, probably caused by the slight breeze defeating my attempts to anchor the subject.
I wanted to get the yellow hints of more flowers in the soft background as I think it gives a feeling of context although I could have, perhaps, composed the shot a little better to have kept them separated from the foreground subject.
