Sun spots

Having recently got some gold welding glass (shade 13) I decided to have a quick play outside to see if the colour is really better than the green stuff I've used before.
The handheld AWB blurs I got didn't have the severe green cast I've had before...
I then took a couple of quick snaps of the sun this one has only been cropped (I used a 200mm lens) The others show the same spots (with additional ones from sensor muck)
Subsequent checking on the internet show NASA's SOHO recorded very similar sun spots on the same day - admittedly considerably sharper & with way better contrast.
