Lakeside Arrival

by sportyman531

Fairburn 2-6-4T No. 42073 arrives at Lakeside with the 16:15 from Haverthwaite on 25th August 2015. I wasn't really expecting any exhaust here but luckily the loco was working a little round the curve into the station with five on.

This scene almost turns the clock back 60 years, only some modern metalwork gives the game away.

A bit too clean and tidy for 60 years back - but it's a nice photo of a really nice class.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

A fine study of this special engine.
Best wishes,
