Works for me,not that I could see anything "wrong" with your Original.For me,the eye is drawn away from the "hazy" bit in the top part.
The thing I`ve found with "Cropping" is that you can end up so "far away" from what you wanted to capture when you took the shot in the first place.
But "Beauty is in The Eye of The Beholder"..he he...and as long as you are happy with it,that`s all that matters.

Cheers Alfie,I think it comes down to the old rule of thirds and also emphasizes the hilly backdrop

Great shot. love the way the road and the wall zig zag across the picture leading you all the way from the front to the back of the picture.
