ME109 at Farnborough 2010

Photo Information
Friday was not a good day for photographing at Farnborough 2010 with a grey sky causing problems.

However I got a few reasonable shots.

This is a ME109 just after take-off.

Nice shot of a rare aircraft. If I'm not mistaken this is a Spanish CASA built aircraft with a Merlin Engine.

Yes, you are quite correct. We were told by the commentator today that it is a Merlin engined, post war, Spanish built variant.

The wind has been causing problems today and the runway direction has been reversed a few times. I was at the usual take-off end of the runway (240 degrees) today but was lucky enough to be in the right place to see this aircraft land in the reverse direction (60 degrees).

I forgot to mention that in the film 'Battle of Britain@ the Spanish airfoce provided these to substitute for the 'real' German ones, they also supplied the He111s as well, again with Merlin engines.
The Spitfires and hurricane, on the other hand, were the real thing.
(I'm not a plane nut, honest!)
