Our House Framed

by davidstorm

This image is a bit unusual. It is the house where we live, photographed we think around the end of the 19th Century. I've always liked the image, but could not upload it as it was not shot on a Pentax camera! So I had the idea of taking an image of a framed picture that I did for my wife on our 20th Wedding Anniversary, 5 years ago. The people in the image are the inhabitants of the house at that time, but four of them have had the faces of myself, my wife and my two boys superimposed, and our dog Daisy also features! You can't see this on the small Gallery image size, but I think you can still get an impression of what the house is like.

The light reflecting on the glass to the left of the image is the light from the large Bay Window that you can see on the side of the house, so it is in some ways a reflection of itself!

Hi Maria, it's all ours I'm afraid and needs a lot of renovation and even more cleaning! We wouldn't swap it though as it has great character and a lovely big garden where I can take lots of insect macro shots!

Best wishes
