AF rear converter test

Photo Information
After having long hesitated I "lashed out". This is a first test of the Pentax AF REAR CONVERTER with a K-50 and 55-300 (SMC DA = older model). The photo was taken hand-held more or less at random at 420mm, F8, 1/500. There was some PP and the colours might have been adjusted more—but all that needs patience. Viewed on a MacBook Pro with a 'retina' screen, it looks pretty impressive, but I'm wondering whether I should keep the thing. Does anyone else out there use the converter? Any remarks would be very welcome.

Shame about the crane - but the converter looks worth keeping to me.

I too was thinking, "random shot?" ... with a crane in it? Grogeman? No way. He loves cranes!

I am having mixed experiences with an AF rear converter presently. It is new to me and I have to get to know what it can and cannot do.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

More and more cranes around.
One has to like them—or else.
Convinced it is an invasion—clever aliens.

It seems to have done the job pretty well on this occasion!
