Male Siskin

by Blaze

This chap was most obliging yesterday and allowed me to get quite close.
Taken outside and not through the window - it makes a difference !

Nice and clear Sally. I've seen a few Siskin lately, but haven't managed a capture as good as this yet.

Nice and sharp, the 55-300 is a great lens and you have used it to good effect here Sally. Maybe could do with the levels tweaking up just a little?

Thank you Zed and David .
I took several shots of this bird and I was afraid of tweaking the levels up because of flare on the bird. Some of the other shots had small areas of flare on the feathers.

It's much sharper than your earlier efforts, Blaze, and that's because there's no window in the way.

David is right, it could be a bit brighter. It won't cause highlights on the bird but will on the fat ball. Just reducing highlights will get rid of that. I know, I've done it on your Flickr shot!
