Last man standing !

I was surprised to see this red 'phone box on a remote road beside Loch Awe in Scotland.
I took this shot as a record since it won't be there much longer - a notice inside said that as it had not been used for some time it was due to be removed !

It was probably once (long before the days of mobiles !) very important since below this box, at the waters edge, there are the remains of an old landing stage which would have been used for ferrying people across the Loch, so it probably had a 'twin' on the far side ?
