Very interesting. I often wondered what was under all those vehicles, well would you believe it, could it be tarmac? And no potholes, theres a whole other world out there I knew nothing about.

It is a new road cutting across the centre of Brittany. They are not all like this, but, generally speaking, the French express ways and highways are pretty acceptable.
A couple of years ago I did find England rather congested with loads and loads of people driving on the wrong side of the road.
France does have more space.
