Happy Birthday Frankie!

There are many photos, often family photos, that make me happy. There are many non-family photos that stand out from the norm, maybe because of the event, maybe the difficulty of getting the shot, maybe some personal connection with the people. We have been to many, many Frankie Valli/Four Seasons concerts over the years, once even running the fan club for a while in the 1970s. Those shows made me happy for sure, but especially so if something off script happened. For example, when the curtain came down at the end of one tour, Frankie decided to do four more songs to celebrate a great tour. This was unheard of, and the backstage guys at the theatre grumbled about it, but the audience loved it. Here we have a more recent show where it was actually Frankie's birthday and his sons wheeled on a surprise birthday cake. Unexpected and everybody was happy as the band struck up "Happy Birthday to You". I got the shot and it's been used quite a few times including a book cover that Frankie was presented witha couple of years back. So he's 91 at the beginning of May, still touring, and I'm happy to present here one of Mr Francesco Stephen Castellucio's birthday surprises.
