Fir Tree Bokeh

Another shot with the (excellent) Hanimar Auto S 135mm f/2.8 M42 lens, on my Pentax KP. The only drawback with this lens is it doesn't have an Auto/Manual switch, so if you want to use different apertures on a DSLR, the aperture pin needs to be held in somehow, otherwise you are always shooting wide open. However, this lens is stellar wide open!

Ah. But that shows it off a lot better. Point taken!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

There is a you tube video on how to keep the pin inside the lens, by taking off the back end from the lens , removing the pin and using a plastic collar made from an old biro. I used it on a few of my Helios lens a few years ago and it worked a treat..hope this is of any use to you David..Regards..tomt.

Thanks for that suggestion, I was wondering if a piece of gaffer tape might also do the trick? You don't need much pressure on the pin to push it in, might try the tape first and then see if it needs an alternative approach. I have the lens for sale on ebay, but might just end the listing as I am very tempted to keep it.

Don't you just love that bokeh?

Lovely colours and pleasing pattern.

I'd keep that lens.
