Bonnefanten Museum, Maastricht

by pauljay

If the city of Maastricht, in the deep southeast of the Netherlands, ever finds a place on your travel itinerary you might want to include the Bonnefanten Museum as one of your points of interest to visit, if only for the building itself. Designed by Italian architect Aldo Rossi the museum has become a modern day landmark beside the River Maas. We have visited another of his unique galleries; The Lighthouse beside Lac Vassivière in Limousin, France, a couple of photos from which I have posted here previously. The Bonnefanten is currently exhibiting works by American artist Raymond Pettibon - not to everyone's taste perhaps but interesting nonetheless.
I realise now that perhaps I should have tried a hand-held HDR to let a little more light into that right hand wall. Anyway, it hasn't lost all detail so I'm quite happy with it the way it is.
