An Unexpected Visitor - White Pheasant

Today my wife spotted this bird in our back garden, it casually strolled around pecking at bird food. It came very close to the house to feed at a ground feeder on our patio which is where I caught this image through our double glazed French doors.
It seems it has been seen around our village for a few of weeks, this is the first time we've seen it, the consensus is that it's a rare White Pheasant.
Pentax K-1 with Pentax K 200mm f4 lens at f8 or f11, manually focused using live view, post processed and cropped with DxO.

It's back again this morning for another feed.
Actually the shot was at f4.0 with lens wide open as I was in AV mode and I didn't use the 'green' button.

Thanks David, it visited again today for its morning feed.
I expect it's a survivor of the local 'shoot', a friend in the village has even had it stroll into her house!
I just hope it doesn't succumb to a cat or dog or a keen local hunter.
Saw that you spotted one in the wild!

If your area is fairly wooded, it is likely that it has deliberately added to the released stock by the keepers... they use leutistic ones in wooded areas.... in open areas like oop't'North, they use the melanistic black/dark blue morph. They allow the keepers to rapidly see where the flock of "clay pigeons" is at any particular time.

Thanks Tim, the latest village information (gossip) is that this one escaped from a group of them in captivity and has been see around the village since about Christmas. We live the other side of the village from its escape location and it appears to have slowly migrated this way. It's now visited us each morning for the last 5 days.
