A Pentax full-frame DSLR camera is currently under development and Ricoh expects it to be ready for launch by the end of 2015.
The camera, which currently doesn't have a name, is a K-mount digital SLR camera with a large, 35mm full-frame image sensor that's compatible with the DA-series interchangeable lenses, using an image-cropping function.
The new model will be exhibited at CP+ 2015 - one of the largest and most comprehensive camera and imaging shows in Asia. This annual event will be held from February 12 to 15 at the PACIFICO Yokohama convention centre in Japan.
Visit the Ricoh Imaging website for more information.
Sadly it is three years too late to the party and unless priced agressively it will not succeed. Pentax has the lead in medium format ( no Canon of Nikon in site)...If the FF DSLR is to succeed It has to beat the best out their at their own game......
Might be better to drive price of 645 down to push that as the way forward ....I would love to be able to afford a 645Z
Chees all
being a professional and having a vast array of Pentax and 3rd party lenses I am extremely excited for the release of the new Pentax FF Camera.
I'm sure it will have features that by far surpass offerings from CaNikon.
Thanks Pentax
Looking forward to seeing the full spec and details and hope the secrecy will be worth the wait.
