Are these with the K1 in full frame mode or using the cropped sensor mode?

An interesting one this: Samsung 10-17mm@14mm (Samsung's variant of the Pentax version.)
The field of view is quite useable from 14-17mm and comparable to using the lens on APSC, The walls on either side are at 90 degrees so FOV is wider than that. Zooming out to 10mm makes the image smaller (to fit the APCS-C sensor size) but content doesn't significantly change.

SMC PentaxDA 35mm f2.4@f2.4 (The budget plastic fantastic.)

At f2.4 - Some vignetting which is correctable if necessary, but it improves on stopping down.

By f8 vignetting is much less of an issue.

The 10-17mm can be improved by shaving off the lens hood.

Shine a flashlight through the viewfinder to see how much needs to come off.
Alternatively remove it all or send it to Germany for a pro job.

SMC Pentax-DA 40mm f2.8 XS (The mini lens produced to pair with the K-01.)

At f2.8

At f2.8 - Not that much different from the 35mm plastic fantastic.

At f8 - hard to complain at that really - who would believe it!

By comparison to an unshaved 10-17 this is the Sigma 8-16m HSM @14mm f7.1 (also unshaved!)
From 8 to 13mm the FOV is similar with edge blanked out like the Pentax/Samsung 10-17mm. I suppose shaving that might help too, or buy a Ricoh Theta.
Field of view achievable is slightly less than the 10-17 but is rectilinear.

SMC Pentax-DA 16-45mm ED-AL @19mm f6.3

19mm is the point the vignetting is almost eliminated. Vignetting significantly worse at wider focal lengths but from 20-45mm is unnoticeable and lens quite usable.

I'm finding this thread of yours very interesting, thanks John, not least because I'm torn between buying the K1 or waiting to see when (if?) Pentax produce another APSC body, as I have an indecent number of perfectly good DA and DA* lenses, but take the view that buying the K1 would be a waste of money as it really needs FAs.

Or does it?

Will you be posting photos made with DA lenses in K1 crop mode?
