Might you be there on the day?

It had crossed my mind as it would be nice to meet up with a few names.

What will those of you going, do when you get there. Will you be getting a day ticket and riding on the trains or be stumbling about in the foliage at the lineside, photographing trains?

The cutting in Burrs Country Park used to be a good spot with what looked a decent pub nearby but it would be a bit of a walk from Bolton Street station. Alternately there would be the photo-ops in and around the stations.

I'm just new to this, but the two times I've been, we have based ourselves at Bury station.

I don't think I will make it up there this weekend.

Here is a shot I took in Burrs Country Park one Sunday afternoon a few years ago. (At ~3pm, nice side-lighting on trains heading south into Bury). This engine is scheduled to feature at the weekend.

Of course I have got the GC steam gala next weekend at Loughborough.

Pity you can't be there Pete. It would have been nice to meet you again.
BTW I like your Class 5 picture. A class 5 and the black B1 are due at the ELR this weekend. I plan to get them double heading at Carlisle next weekend or I might have been tempted to drive down tot he GCR.

A serious lack of funds means this is as close as I'll get this year
