Wildlife at Crystal Palace

Its not my usual thing, but when visiting Crystal Palace Park recently it was hard to resist seeking out some local creatures in their natural habitat. I'm glad to report that even the K7's elderly AF system was well up to the task!

All with the K7 and D FA28-105mm …. (and what a great performer that lens was, again! Looking at the results I was hard pushed to believe these were shot with a zoom ....)

I remember seeing these as a kid way back when...That lens, camera combination shines, though I've been told it's not all about the gear..The person behind it, plays the biggest role 🙂

Another good and interesting set, Nigel - your subjects look great considering their age (at least 65 million years).

As you have written, "...what a great performer that lens was, again! Looking at the results I was hard pushed to believe these were shot with a zoom...". When looking at Pentax images around the web, it seems that this lens is overlooked by the majority of APS-C users, who probably assume it is only for the K-1. I think it is a great lens for image quality, and so it is often the only zoom I take along with me on the K-70.

Cheers.

Thanks Vejj, Derek and Phillip. You're right Phillip the D FA28-105 is an excellent match for aps-c. With the 18-55 also in the bag that's most things covered!

I like the composition of #s 2 and 3. They were doing a great job modelling for you!

Yes, better than my little models at home! It was fun trying to grab interesting angles through the trees. Next time I think I'll try with the 70-300 zoom and see about some closer framings.
