It's interesting that http://www.whitbygothweekend.co.uk/ has already announced both 2012 dates. I think Jo is trying to assure that her weekend is the one that gets noticed and remains 'official'.

The fringe event http://www.whitbygothweekendfringe.co.uk/ is being held the weekend before (which I couldn't make even if I wanted to) but if anyone does make it the field reports would be good.

From what I hear the event will be back to normal next year, so no more dithering over which weekend to choose.

So, time to get organised.

For those who make it early, breakfast will be served at the café on Sandgate around 8.00 am.

After that it's at the foot of the steps leading to the church/abbey here: link

It may have started early chaps. My CO was there on Sunday and reports that there were plenty of Goth's about as also stated here link.

That said, it is expected that there will be a sizeable turn out for the coming weekend.

Best regards

I wonder how long it will be before Whitby becomes a full-time goth town and you can just turn up any weekend you like?

Having seen some of the weekly turnout, it may already have a distinct "theme". I am planning to be there this New Years Eve for a few hours. Part of a long time tradition to be on a coast for NYE sunset.

You guys might be able to get some good firework shots as well for anyone visiting Saturday.

Goth's + Fireworks + Breakfast + beers = Lot's of fun and a good social.

Best regards

I would imagine the West Cliff. Might get busy!

The good news is the wind seems to have changed so the rain front may pass over on the Friday leaving the Saturday fairly dry. (Fingers crossed).
