Where to get 3mm film processed in London?

I used to use Sky. Sadly gone now. And I have horror stories concerning Boots and Snappy Snaps.

Can anyone recommend a lab in London that does a good job and treats your pics with the appropriate care..?

I don't live in London so I can't be too much help to you, but I'd suggest giving SnappySnaps a try - I've used several "professional" (read: expensive) mail order labs and none of them have done as good a job as my local SnappySnaps branch. I don't look anywhere else for 35mm any more

Last time I used Snappy Snaps I looked in the bag and my negs weren't there. The guy searched everywhere. Eventually I saw something lying on the floor in the corner. "could that be my negs down there?" Indeed they were. No apology nor concern...

Last time I used Boots there was dust fluff and hair stuck on the emulsion!

Never again.

Hard one to call this. Probably get more care and attention at an indi High Street photo processor but their machines won't be doing the volumes, so the chemicals may be a older and not changed as frequently, economics of scale etc.

If I've got to get a roll of colour neg processed, I've generally used Boots - the local branch in the town centre where I live and one in Swindon on a retail park close to where I used to work - with no issues on quality. I've generally used the 3 day service. If its B&W or slides, then I use The Darkroom UK in Cheltenham - free post mail order with same day turn around. Pricing is fair for this type of work but they don't compete well with the High street bulk processors.

Don't know where you live in London, but I've had great service from SnappySnaps opposite Clapham Junction. Ivor Howell in West Norwood also supposed to be good.

That's exactly the branch where I had my unhappy incident!

Still, that was 10 years ago, and things have probably changed. So if no-one comes up with a better suggestion...

That's a name from the past. I used to use Sky for my Ektachrome and Cibachrome prints - brilliant, and Joe's basement in Wardour Street for my black and white, also sadly gone. I too am looking for somewhere decent in London. I live near Kingston.

I have just bought a Nikonscan 5000 ED film scanner and have started scanning my old trannies and negs. The smooth grain of film is so much nicer than digital so I am planning to get my LX and K2 serviced at Asahi or Harrow and start shooting film again. Keep me posted with what you find.

Photo Express are good - cheap mail order service: £3.50 for process and scan to disc.

I used to use Bonusprint in the 1980s. Alwaqys a great service adn the developing and prints were top notch. They're still going and based in Borehamwood . Google them and get some labels sent.
