And just about make it there in time!

Literally saw the light, shoes on, drove to the end of the village, got out, legged it to the beach and managed to get one image before the light faded.

You can see the light in the sky in the second has faded, shame as I like that composition and it would of looked epic!

If you hadn't seen the original, you'd have been very pleased with the 2nd one. They are both wow!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Another super image Gareth that first one. Care to share any pp tips if you did any tweaks.

You are lucky to live so close to such a beautiful view.

Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

Thanks everyone! This beach always gives a new look depending on where you are shooting from.

The second I'm debating ditching the sky and going pano on the rocks and sea?

I treat all images to spot brush treatment, then grads of adjustment and then global adjustments, the global adjustments are left to the end so for this, the cliff, foreground left, water, rocks to the right of water, rocks further to the right and the sky are all separate adjustments and then global adjustments are made to finish the image off.

What a shame the 'first' Rhoose Beach image is no longer in this post CG. Just spotted it on Flickr and it has been twice awarded - and no wonder.
This would have to be the best shot I've seen for a while.

Cheers i-Berg! Thats some praise! I tweaked the sky a bit and forgot in doing so, the BB code would change, wish they wouldn't do that!

Here it is with the tweaked sky!

It does look better somewhat larger than this - BUT:

The awards just keep rolling in on Flickr...
