No longer available (sold presumably). What was the ticket price on that ?

£149.00 and so I couldn't resist buying it.

I find a lot of Ffordes s/h stuff overpriced, but that's a steal.

There have been some right corkers on there recently. It's a pity the new website is so badly designed (moaning again!)

I've just unintentionally splashed out on another telescope. I placed a minimal bid as a marker & won the auction for a penny!
Admittedly it's not a top quality job, but it should provide a few components to play with. I might even replace the eyepiece holder with a connector for a M42 helicoid

Won on a well known internet auction a Sigma 24-70mm. In the listings the images showed the lens hood attached but when it arrived there was no lens hood. Annoying as I've now messaged the seller 3 times and they haven't responded to them

The goods are therefore not as described & you can get a partial refund. Failure to respond will only reinforce your position there.

They responded today saying:

"I'm on a cruise across the Atlantic with very little WiFi between ports. I think I have the lens hood but I’m not back til 11th May. I’ll let you know for certain after that."

Well that's helpful

Sigma 150-600mm Sport .... makes the Pentax 150-450mm seem like you are carrying a feather.

A DFA 50mm f2.8 macro in the SRS 10% off sale, the second in my small lightweight primes. However just after I clicked the order for it I had a phone call to tell me the Leica D-Lux 7 I had a reserve on was at long last in stock: just the one so did I want it? Of course I had to say yes so they both arrived yesterday, what with new tyres it has been an expensive month so far. My hands having been used to a FF DSLR struggled with the little camera which is intended as one you keep handy at all times, however not long before I hit a snag: RAW files are in Leica’s unique format and the software you download is the Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop subscription! If I want that I also want the choice to cancel, not be tied in, so I am on the hunt for alternative software which is a pain. Considering it is marketed as a beginner’s camera that is a major flaw in my view. The point of mentioning it here is how much better Pentax’s .dng default RAW output is which has no such restrictions. The main reason I didn’t opt for the GR III is its fixed focal length although it has a bigger sensor.

As for the 50mm macro it looks promising, nice and sharp, and more useful for close up than true macro given the way it extends to focus - likely to hit anything you are trying to capture! The ring flash works well on it, better as someone else said on a standard screw in adaptor to avoid vignetting which you get with the hood replacement although I worry what effect the weight would have on the lens barrel. The vignetting disappears at smaller apertures which you are more likely to use anyway.

Does the book-token I've just won in the Everyman Crossword comp count?

I'd say so.

Nothing off the seller regarding the lens hood. Made a claim with eBay asking for a £25 refund and that had to run 7 days for the seller to respond. Still nothing from the seller so eBay stepped in and escalated it and found me in favour. Great, but then they refunded me the whole cost of the lens!

This wasn't days ago and still nothing from the seller.

So the seller has finally responded by sending me a few messages and contacting eBay so they're now calling me. After no correspondence from them for weeks they now are going all out which I find annoying as when the boot was on the other foot they were happy to let 2 weeks pass with no messages etc. Short story is I've offered to refund their money back, which I was planning on doing, minus the cost of the replacement lens hood.

What I find annoying in all this is eBay have said they'll then refund the seller their end the remaining so they'll get all their money back as they have a special relationship with the seller and it's a favour to them. Never mind the run around I've had off them!

Personally I'd have told eBay too late and remind them of their own processes and buyer/seller obligations.

They adjudicated in your favour, gave you a full refund which you didn't ask for. Keep the lens and the full refund and leave eBay to make their peace with their special seller.

I found on Ebay a 110year old Baush & Lomb Rapid Rectilinear 180mm f8. I cleaned it and mounted it on to my K5.
I was amazed at the accuracy of the colors and the sharpness of this lens

A lovely little black Pentax Q complete with charger, 01 standard prime lens, 03 fisheye lens, leather wrist strap and a nice little Sandstrom carry case, all for the princely sum of £70.00.
