I bought a Minolta Hi-matic 9 rangefinder, which was the peak of Minolta's compact RFs (in my opinion). I've already changed the light seals but I need to dismantle the lens and free up the shutter which is stuck shut, a common problem caused by dried oil on the blades. Other than that it's in great shape and the rangefinder itself looks like it doesn't need any calibration, which is quite rare in my experience.

Last week, having promised the wife that I would buy NO MORE LENS, walking past charity shop, hello I thought, Pentax F 28-80, needs cleaning, 10...........well, I had to didn't i, well I know it's not highly rated, but come on 10. Be a shame not to. Got it home, the cleaning was all external dust. Result. Focus slightly off on K1 just required +6 on fine tuning. Not a bad little lens to go with the 35-70. Happy days.

HD PENTAX-DA 35mm F2.8 Macro Limited Lens. I've not owned a macro lens in decades and needed to get a more up-to-date 50mm portrait lens - this bit of kit covers both bases.

This is a beautiful lens. I bought mine earlier this year and have had great results with it, pin sharp and beautiful colour rendering. Some of my best results have been from my istD, so much so that I leave it on the istD. However for macro shots I use the K70 and live view to get focussing spot on. A great all round prime lens.

I haven't tried the HD, but the SMC version is my favourite lens ever. It's excellent at portraits.

Bought a KP from eBay. Superb price but it arrived with a horrible problem where it refuses to AF in viewfinder mode. There are marks in the mirror box suggesting someone might have tampered with the AF lens or maybe tried to jam the wrong mount in there, otherwise the camera is spotless.

Live view mode works perfectly but this will be going back... gutted.

Keep an eye out for it in case it is relisted with the fault described. If it was a Sony mirrorless camera with this sensor, feature set and mount then it would certainly be worth at least 250, especially considering they're essentially Live View cameras.

Hopefully arriving tomorrow from MPB a Tamron 70-200mm f 2.8 as my Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 only works in MF and throws camera into a fit in liveview. Also recently shelved Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 for a Pentax 17-70mm f4 as i had one ages ago and regretted getting rid of it plus the Pentax just feels a better made lens to me.

Pentax 70mm F2.4 HD Limited lens. I have really enjoyed using the 35mm HD Limited lens that I bought earlier this year so when I saw SRS had 10% off the 70mm I decided this was too good to miss. Justified the purchase to Mrs R by explaining I needed a quality portrait lens for the grandchildren photos. Now looking forward to seeing the results.

Godox TT350P flash and Godox X2T-P flash trigger for the great winter adventure of learning to use flash .

Also a Cokin 2-8 stop variable ND filter because I want to experiment with balancing ambient light and flash outdoors (and because it was half price in the SRS Bank Holiday Sale ). Yes, I know about non-uniform density with wider angle lenses, but that's not where I intend to use it.

I bought an 18-135 with faulty autofocus for 50. It was a bit of a gamble but after disassembling the back of the lens it looked as though the clutch mechanism was a bit sticky. A bit of grease there, a bit of a wipe here and it's focusing perfectly!

(The only issue is that it sounds like a cross between SDM and screwdrive when it focuses)

On FB marketplace today I picked up a K1000 with 50mm f1.7 and an auto Chinon 135mm for 50. Came with 2 other crappy 3rs party telephotos which have some hazing in so straight chucked.

All shutter speeds working as they should, gonna get a new battery in it tomorrow to see if the meter still works and replace the light seals
