Any thoughts on how well Pentax kit would do in such tests?

My Pentax has been through really heavy rain, snow, ice fog, heat, dust and ocean spray. Works just fine. No water inside, and that with the on WR 17-70 lens too.

Impressive, though I wouldn't want to do that with my own K3 or still yet unused K1, However, if someone would like to lend me there Canon 800D, I would be happy to test that.

any trip to where there has been dust, sand, sea salt of mud, I stick my Pentax's under a shower and dry them with a tea towel.

wouldn't do it with my Nikons.

I always take the mick out of Canon owners when the heavens open after the ask 'Pentax, what is that?' and shroud their 5Ds...

Tell them the truth, tell them Pentax is SLR DNA.
celebrate the person, not the cause.

A few years ago I went to Monument Valley in Utah(?) and my K5 fitted with 18-55mm wr lens got covered in dust. When I got back to the hotel I placed it under the shower and washed the dust off, dried it with a hotel towel. Camera and lens worked fine afterwards.

Monument Valley is Arizona. My camera stayed dust free there, but not in other places in the area.

I was in the alps a few years ago when the emergency helicopter landed near our hotel. Everyone was out getting photographs of it. When it took off there was the inevitable snow storm. All the canikons turned their backs or put their cameras under their jackets. We got covered with snow and one of them warned me -"you've got snow on your camera". I just told him that it was OK as it was a Pentax and they can cope with weather, and just carried on shooting.

A dog came up to me and licked my camera, it's owner apologised but I told him not to worry "It's a Pentax"

Been out in windswept hail, rain, and sand on Camusdarrach beach. Been treking through incessant rain in BC forrests and undergrowth. No problem.

Clever dog recognised it was a Pentax and came to pay homage.

According to GoogleMaps it is in Utah but the visitor centre is in Arizona.

I was shooting a gig in December when some kind soul in the crowd decided to throw beer. Covered me, the girls next to me, and my K-1 and 15-30.

Apart from the smell for a few days, the gear was left unharmed.
This space deliberately left blank.

My K5 and K-S2 have both functioned normally in torrential rain for 4-5 hours on a couple of occasions. Other makes took shelter.
