It can come on Saturday especially if there's been a bank holiday.

I think 'out for delivery' means it is in the van. But the van could still be at the warehouse!

KM - phone SRS in the morning - just to ensure that they know what's going on .
I doubt they will be very pleased with Parcel Force . There's nothing that they can do - but as the senders of the parcel they can certainly express their dissatisfaction with the service for which they have paid.

With hindsight I should have realised that Friday was going to be a non-delivery day, and Parcel Force class Saturdays and Sundays as non-delivery days as well. No mention in their T's & C's of Bank Holidays specifically.
I wouldn't have cared so much if I knew it would be a Tuesday delivery, it was the 'out for delivery' that confused me and caused me to spend the day waiting when I could have been out. As greynolds999 says it probably means the stuff is checked out of the depot into the van, which is all loaded up and sitting in the compound ready to roll first thing Tuesday morning.
It certainly isn't SRS's fault, although I might call them just to see what their expectation of the service was. If it does get delivered on Saturday due to the deferral on Friday that would be good, but do I wait all day Saturday because it still says 'out for delivery'? (It says that even now, so it doesn't actually mean anything).
Sod's Law would say that if I go out tomorrow there will be a card on the mat when I get back...

This leads on to the next point - do you hold a vendor responsible for their delivery company. After all, they are the prime contractor.

Yes, covered on OFT site.
Ring the Palace and complain how dare they interrupt the delivery of your lens by holding a Royal Wedding

When I sent my K20D to cardifgareth I had to pay extra for a Saturday next day delivery, normal next day delivery service excluded weekends. I also know that FedEx are the same so its probably standard across the industry.
Mikes right, expect it Tuesday

Depends on the local Sorting Office I live about 3 miles away from mine. If they have say 1 parcel marked for Monday Delivery and one marked for Saturday Special Delivery to a nearby address they won't hold onto it and send the van out again on the Monday, they'll deliver it Saturday along with the other stuff.

I too sent a lens out and asked for the saturday but it was indeed a couple of pounds (Above) and including the next day delivery I paid and it reached its destination when asked although my parcel went out from here at midday on the friday ,because of the holiday on saturday Nex Day would mean Monday or in this case Tuesday ....I think it is called profit....
All the best

Well, the lens arrived a short while ago!
I don't know whether this was an official Saturday delivery or it just turned out that way due to the Friday holiday, but either way I'm very pleased.
The lens is the Tamron 17-55 2.8. First task was to put it on a tripod and see what it is like - and it is very impressive indeed. The AF needed -5 adjustment on the K5 to match the LV focus exactly, and it is extremely sharp at 2.8 (which is just as well since that's what I bought it for!)
More later once I've taken some real pictures with it.

That's an interesting lense
You're going to love the 17-50 - it's a cracking lense.

I got an email saying it was despatched at around 15.15. Good work SRS!
The status of it on the Parcelforce site changed during the evening as it was processed, then early this morning it changed to 'out for delivery'.
So I stayed in.
And waited.
And waited.
Still nothing at 19:08. Maybe they aren't actually doing deliveries today since it is a day off for most people, but why is it out for delivery?
Not amused with their tracking system if that's the case.
Maybe they'll do Saturday. If not maybe Monday, er, that's a Bank Holiday. Tuesday? Grrrr....
