I have been using up some 30 year old KODAK EKTAR 25 found in my 'fridge- first test I used my Canon FTBn and cut and processed then second half I loaded my 1975 Asahi Pentax KX as the negs were a bit under-exposed from the Canon so thought I would test Pentax accuracy -- well, the second half was still 'thin' so I need to downrate more -- BUT the SCANS seem to be good - although with a BLUE cast which I corrected in PhotoShop 7 'levels' just as I would in my Darkroom with filters in my Durst M305.

Well that old film seems to have stood up to the test of time Peter! I like the 'look' of scanned negs, nowadays they almost have a nostalgic character built-in. The development seems very well handled, punchy colours and sharp.

I need to find a lot more time to get my scanner going - there's hundreds of negs to go through, its just a time consuming business, and of course its difficult to assess exactly which frame should be scanned out of a batch of similar ones so you end up doing them all.

Your scans look good to me - dust & spots is an occupational hazard here, but photoshop healing & clone tools can help out now. You've achieved good contrast with your shots here, which I find can often be the most challenging part of setting up the scans.

The KX was a magnificent camera! It was built in those days when you bought a camera and expected to keep it for 20 years.
I shot some Kadak Verichrome Pan, which expired in July 1962, a couple of weeks ago.

Ian -- you didn't shoot that Kodak Verichrome Pan in a KX as it was available only in 127, 620 and 120 rollfilm sizes -- I have a couple of 127 rolls dated 1978 to use in my boy's Yashica LM 44 TLR !
