There are indeed. The second one especially appeals.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

The first shot for me, with a little tidying up. i.e just losing the OOF blob on the left and a crop to centralise perhaps

Get a black background for the first and experiment with different lighting.

The composition on this one is better. I o prefer the lighter background, perhaps add some light to the bg to turn it grey

some great ingenuity going on here - with excellent results Barrie

I have to admit I'm a little confused by the 3rd image (in the first post) - is it a photo of wall art

Thanks LennyBloke. The 3rd image first post, is a still life I put together and the "picture frame" I put on in PP

This shows that a scene can have potential and reworking it over and over again can get the results and how small changes massively change an image! Well done Barrie

PS - The original No.3 still life is exceptional if you ask me. The colour pop of the seperate items is superb, the collection of 3 items works well and the background has texture and shades of black. It certainly is an image I'd have been proud taking

Yes exactly. But the lighting is not working for me in this version. The original had a clarity about it that this is missing. I am not an expert on lighting these kind of shots which is why I suggested experimentation
