The K3 @ Bramham International Horse Trials

This is the second time using the K3 at equine events and the camera is doing really well, I have had a play with the various focus settings in the menus and will be posting my findings later on this week. The tracking has really been improved, I use the user settings for different lenses for different types of focusing, so far this is working very well. Here are some from the last couple of days.

That should really be a great sequence thanks . Somewhere I have some pics my husband took of a similar sort of 'jump' - the rider was mortified when she saw them as she was standing on her head so-to-speak mid air

Somehow I always got better shots than he did - I got the knack of 'following' using his Fuji Bridge Camera better than he did

The third one in this set is the stand-out, can't wait to see the rest of the sequence! I bet it was painful for the horse and / or the rider!

Thanks Alan. Everything is fairly fast paced so you just have to be ready. Yes I was really annoyed that I cut her foot off, as i really like that image, but you only get one take at the horses coming out of that door way. I think the interesting thing is how well the K3 is doing focus tracking wise. As different lenses are better suited to different jobs and looks, I have assigned the three user modes to three different lenses and focus settings and its working really well. I will post the setting later on this week, when i get a chance to type everything up. Just in case people are interested.

That's a fantastic set of 'unauthorised dismount' photos - well done !

I say that as someone who has stood at many obstacles for both ridden and driven trials , and I know it's not easy to get a set like that. I'm not being patronising , I never had a camera that could have done that - first a Kodak P&S then I was graciously permitted to use my husband's Fuji Bridge.

great photos from the sequence. I'd be really interested in your findings on the K3 tracking, which lens were you using at the time?

glad to see horse and rider were both up afterwards.

Does that mean it shouldn't be photographed - in your opinion?
