Did anyone else listen to Melvyn Bragg's "In our time" discussion on the invention of photography? It was broadcast this morning (Thursday 7th July 2016) on BBC Radio 4. Bragg led Professor Simon Schaffer, Prof Elizabeth Edwards and Alison Morrison-Low through the history of photographic imaging: Daguerrotypes, Fox-Talbot, the collodion plate and the many lesser-known pioneers and contributors to the technology. It will be repeated on Radio 4 this evening (21:30; edited down to half an hour) or one can listen and download from BBC iPlayer .

I found it interesting, but of course wished that they had covered some aspects in more detail.

I'll listen to the podcast later. You get extra post broadcast discussion with the podcast too.

We visited Lacock Abbey last month on our UK trip. A small but interesting Fox-Talbot museum there, and of course I took a photo of "the window" .
