Does anyone have experience of using the Tamron 80-210 f3.8-4 lens PK fit. Have seen one for sale and am considering it!!

A very common lens this, I have the 105A which is supposed to be one of the better versions.
However the lens is a slider and thus is prone to dust and fungus.
Optically quite good, there is a picture in my portfolio (page 3 Shot 6) called 'For tyronet2000' taken with this lens.
So you need to check for fungus by shining bright light through the lens - if you can!
Having said that, my copy has a fair coating of fungus on one of the internal elements but, as you can see, still allows a decent shot to obtained.

I have the 105A version as well. Used with my first DSLR a k-r. I love the one piece action, you can focus and zoom without taking your hand off the ring and its parfocal. Here is a link link. Mine has fungus in it although I tried dismantling it I could not get at all the elements that had fungus on it and I have stopped using it. I have some images in my Flickr account if your interested.

Many thanks Jeff/Roger for the info. It is only £40 so I might as well take a punt!!

I have one of the older ones in AD2, sadly it has become infested with the dreaded fungus but before this happened it was pretty good for a "macro" zoom, much better than most zooms which claim the "macro" moniker.

£40 is probably fair for a good example of the 105A
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help
