Suggestion on selling a 17-70 with SDM issue (that can be fixed)

Hello,

Since I bought the k1, the 17-70 is not used anymore. It's a beatiful lens, but as many of those is affected by SDM issues. However with the trick to focus up and down a couple of times it works again and will work for the whole session. This process must be re-done every time the lens is not used for a while.

Can it be sellable? If so how much should I sell it for? (considering I have box and the lens is in perfect conditions)

It's sellable but as to value that's a hard one because of the fault.

When perfect they don't fetch as much as they used to which is a shame as I prefer to use mine over any other lens in that range which includes the 16-50mm. It really is an excellent lens.

Maybe it's an Ebay job, 99p start and describe the fault fully, or try the same here and ask for offers.

yeah apparently they good one go for 200 pounds. I made a video to show how easy is to wake up the auto focus, but I guess I will not get more than 150 pounds from it. Not sure if it's worth to sell it, especially knowing how much I spent on it (including several repairs!). On the other side, I have no more use for it :/

I have a Pentax K30, the 17-70 and a 55-300 to sell, would be nice to get at least 500 pound from them

The pentax service asked me for 150 pound to fix (for the third time) the motor. Do you know if there is a cheaper alternative service?
