Just had an email from SRS that they are offering:

120 Cashback on the K-50
http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/pentax-k-50-camera-body-4680.html

Free 16gb Flu Card with the K-3II
http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/cameras/interchangable-lens-cameras/pentax-dslr...

Missed out on the Flu card as my order for the K-3II was technically after the pre-order (with free Flu-Card or Battery Grip) and before this deal two weeks later......

K50 for less than 300 sounds good.

It's only 209 after Cashback! Ricoh must be losing a lot on that

Cheap way to get a camera with focus peaking.

It also has a remote control socket.

Excellent price on the K50 range. I have to say, the trio of surviving models...K-S1, K-S2 and K-3II are nicely spaced out and very attractively priced...bodes well for a reasonable entry price on the new FF.

Live view focus is also quicker than the K-5 (ii)

Is AF in general up to par with the K5ii and Iis? These were supposedly the best Pentax models to date.

We have a K30 and a K5ii and focusing is identical.

The K-3 is a slightly better focusser all round than the K-5iis, not sure if the K-3ii is better again as I understand they have updated the focussing algorithm. Also not sure on the K-50, is it the same AF system as the K-30, in which case it will be pretty good, but not quite as good as a K-3?

I don't think my post helps very much!

Cheers

It was contast detect autofocus system in live view that was improved in the K-50.
Can be up to twice as fast as a K-5 (ii)
Plus focus peaking added.

Normal viewfinder focus is a little bit slower than the K-5

Looks like a good camera for old lenses.
