A sought after lens which usually goes for a good deal more on ebay:-

I'm not surprised it's gone so quickly. I'd like to think though that someone from this forum grabbed it, and if so, maybe they will make that known here.

Bargain - love the F series lenses!

Looks like they still have a 24-50 F series zoom at a very good price though!

The F series passed me by completely, probably because I stayed with my manual focus MX until 1991 by which time the FA series were in production.

Only 9 Primes were produced in the F series and all super lenses - the 300/4.5 is still my favourite 300mm, IQ is superb - light(ish) and compact and with a detachable tripod foot. The 28mm was improved upon with AL elements in the FA series but many users still rate the F version higher. The 50 and 100 macro's were of course the core design that carried forward into FA and DFA and still hold up well.

And I'd argue they're some of the nicest looking lenses in the Pentax line-up.
All the gear with no idea

Agree completely with HarisF1, in fact it was he who got me hooked on them with an F100 2.8 Macro (still working very well thanks). Now I have 7 others. Everyone a gem.
Just passing thru

If you haven't got the F*300/4.5 then there happens to be a cosmetically tatty (but optically good) copy on Ebay UK at present for £350 - if you're not bothered about the look of it then it's a bargain IMHO
