Simon, got lucky on Radio Silverstone and won a Saturday 4.00pm signing session, there for quite a while by the time all the drivers had been out. I kept a look out for you as figured you may be around.

Lewis was very friendly and chatty to us, although I never saw him and Nico speak to each other.

The Silverstone facebook page has posted a pic that includes me and the missus in it. - link

regards
George

George, do you ever go the British GP and not win a prize from Radio Silverstone!?

Your linked FB photo also shows one of F1's leading professional photographers: the chap in the blue shirt, to Alonso's right, is Charles Coates, who works with respected motor sport agency LAT. He's a top bloke and has an unfair advantage over most of us: he's 6ft 7in and can sometimes see over advertising hoardings that obstruct those of more conventional stature...

Cracking shots

The Damon Hill one is also my favourite, partly for who he is, why he is doing it etc but also as it is an f1 car you can see the cam covers on
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

Having been a winner in 3 competitions in the last 4 years I've come to the conclusion that not many people ring in !

Marvellous set (though my judgement is skewed as I'm a F1 fan). And yes, ample reason for being envious.

I'm glad for Lewis winning his home grand prix (and in the process keeping the only bit of excitement about the championship alive).

Hi, clearly the best Silverstone weekend in many years. Sadly we weren't there this time so thanks for capturing the fun and spirit so ably.

Great set as always Simon. The shot of Damon Hill is my favorite too.

My own shots from Silverstone aren't a patch on yours but I still think they're among the best I've managed.

Here's one of a Lotus as they were my hosts for the day

Now I have to work on getting interesting backgrounds, and those celebrity moments...

A rare species at Silverstone, Mike. Let me know if you find one!

I also echo George's comment: nice shot of Jackie Oliver in the Lotus 33. The historic parade was a very nice touch.

Having to shoot with long telephotos does limit options for backgrounds, your BRDC pavilion shot is way more interesting than just grass. While backgrounds are easier at Oulton & Donnington you managed to fin something even at Silverstone.

I have to admit the historics actually interested me more than the modern single seaters. Here's another one from their static display:
