Sigma lens repair - where to go?

Posted 23/09/2022 - 07:31 Link
Hope y'all can help. I'm waiting to hear back from Fixation but meanwhile are there any other reliable repairers for Sigma lenses - in this case it's a 17-50mm f2.8 lens that is possibly having HSM problems. AF often doesn't work, but in AF mode if I half press the shutter while gently focusing, then it kicks in again. This is quite similar to SDM problems I had awhile back with the pentax version of this lens. Anyway, grateful for any recommendations.

you could get a list of all repair costs for groups of lenses and individual ones , from their website at one time. worth a look at least you then know what you are in for
odd lens or 2

I had them fix my 50-500 a few years ago. Very good experience. Would definitely recommend.

Hm, I did have a look at the pricing. Seems reasonable compared to another similar quote but it's nearly as much as buying another one of these second hand. Still, I've certainly gotten good use out of this one!

Imho, repair the one you have, atleast you know how its been looked after plus Sigma i believe offer a guarantee on parts fitted.

Just wanted to end the thread by mentioning how fast and professional the sigma repair team was. They fixed the lens in a day or two and got it back today already. Itemised list of the repairs, well packaged, 1 hour time slot with DPD for delivery. And the price of £119 for this lens was listed on their site. Great experience all around.
