Boxed in mint condition with there is not much else to say about this extremely well regarded lens. Just see the reviews to see what a wonderful lens it is. My Daughter got married yesterday and I am still reeling from all the expenditure, otherwise I would keep it!!

I am looking for 335 including UK postage (RMSD).

It has been pointed out to me that, although a good quality lens, it is not an EX lens. To be honest, the build quality is very good and I don't see why it is not in the EX series.

The Sigma 8-16 is a fabulous lens IMHO. It might not have the EX classification but it is extremely well built never-the-less.

If I could only keep on lens it would be my 8-16, I love it....

When reading reviews I came across the same thing. They couldn't find an exact reason why it wasn't an EX lens, it just wasn't so titled.

Spectacular lens, however. The 'mushrooms' photo in my portfolio was taken with an 8-16mm. The odd number of blades really makes for great starburst effects.

I believe only fixed aperture lenses are designated EX now

I'd heard that somewhere as well, but the 50-150mm OS and 120-300mm are listed as EX lenses, and they're both newer than the 8-16mm. Perhaps they were the last of them.

Anyway, I'm glad this excellent lens has found a new home! Sorry for the off-topic discussion.

The 50-150mm and 120-300mm are fixed aperture f2.8 lenses.

Can I bring this topic to an end please. This is the classified ads forum, not a general discussion one, and THE LENS IS ALREADY SOLD. You are not being fair to other people by keep bringing this to the head of the queue.

I don't know where this information about fixed aperture lenses came from but both lenses mentioned above have a normal iris and adjust from f2.8 to f22. I don't know of any Sigma fixed aperture lenses, they would not be very versatile if they were!!

If anybody wants to continue the 'why EX?' debate or to take me to task over my above comments, I suggest you start a new topic under 'Lenses for Pentax Cameras' or send me a PM. Thanks.

Someone got out of the wrong side of bed this morning......

I think Mike meant constant aperture, not fixed aperture.

Whoops, I guess I just bumped it to the top again.....
