Picked up a fantastic condition Sigma 70-300 APO macro complete with caps and case for a real reasonable £70.
More of a wide angle person but as my biggest is the kit lens at 55 thought I'd try this bigun' and also to have a go at the macro world.

Anyways postie dropped it off this morning and in between the downpours I snapped these, no I know they're not much but with a bit of practice (if it ever stops raining) I think I could improve .
Seems a big bargain of a lens and now would love a fast glass one but don't think somehow I'd get this sort of price .

Great lens, good pics. I have one also and don't get to use it nearly as much as I'd like. It always goes with me though.

I purchased that lens via ebay from Cameta Auctions in NYC. Well pleased with the performance of this lens, including macro, and quite often use it with a Tamron 2x TC for wildlife photography.. Actually I have purchased quite a few Sigmas from Cameta and the service has also been prompt and have not had any issue with any of he lenses that I did purchase.

I also purchased a 80-200 f2.8 rated Sigma from a pro shop in Calgary Alberta. No deals on that one. Big dollars but it does a great job when shooting indoor soccer events where the lighting leaves much to be desired. Even at f2.8 the results are quite sharp and it will stay at f2.8 throughout the range. (not a lens to lug around during a hike however)
