At this price it's 140 quid lower than anywhere else.

I've read about AF issues but I got it anyway. Now heading to classifieds to sell some stuff to pay for it.

Wow, I was looking at that yesterday and it was still 649. In fact, even now, if you browse the list of Sigma K-mount lenses it shows as 649, but go into the page and it's 499.

If I recall correctly, it's reputed to have great IQ (very sharp even wide open) but it's the bulkiest 2x zoom ever made (understandably) and the AF is hit-&-miss.

Got it today. I must say I'm astonished. Build quality is amazing, silent focus (I've never had HSM lens before), and the picture quality is great. As for AF these are 100% crops from first few photos. K3 II center focus point. No adjustments done, default Lightroom settings exported as 100% jpg.

at 18mm f1.8, target about 15 meters away

18mm f1.8 about 2 meters away

35mm at 1.8 about 1m away

35mm at 1.8 about 0.5m away

These are from center of the frame, spot focus. So far it looks bloody perfect.

edit: looks like the forum uploader resized them, these are not 100% crops, they're a bit smaller

How you finding the size?

For me that's the only big negative... but I've never owned/used it
