Someone asked that question here: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/58836221 The question was followed up with some useful comments
I wouldn't have thought there'd be that much difference between them. Both will be a bit of a compromise being superzooms, though useful in some circumstances. It wouldn't be an upgrade, more or less the same but different! Both offer versatility over quality (not to say either are bad but neither are DA* lenses either!)

The Sigma superzoom is surprisingly good, even when compared to a lens like the DA 55-300.
The only downside I noticed was that it was quite a heavy lens compared to my main walkaround DA 18-135, and didn't feature WR (not a huge deal to be honest).

All the gear with no idea

Has anyone any experience of the Sigma 18-300 F3.5-6.3 DC Macro HSM `C` lens? I really like Sigma lenses and this one, on paper, would seem a good general `catch all` option. My main lens at the moment is a Pentax 18-270.
