FWIW, I think of the ultra-wide zooms available for Pentax APS-C (apart from the 11-18mm f/2.8 DA*) I think this is the best option. I'm pretty happy with mine.

So how does the Pentax 12-24mm compare to Sigma 10-20mm ?

I once had a 10- 20mm a few years ago never rated it that much but may be i never gave it enough ' love'

IMHO, you definitely did NOT! The original "basic" f4.5-5.6 version has been my "go to" UWA lens for over a decade and I have rarely been disappointed in the results - even when used at the widest setting, and wide-open, indoors

PS: it's "as tough as old boots" - hit the deck several times (once with me behind it!), lost some sort of tube at the rear that just "fell out" and was then successfully refitted with some "loctite", and has generally "not been taken that much care of" - and yet it just "goes on and on delivering"
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)
