Shutter release problem
K5iis shutter releases even with AF button and Half Press(focus priority) focus have both been disabled,
I do not believe that is possible. I think you can enable both AF button/shutter half press to provide autofocus (default setting) , or program the AF button to cancel the AF action of shutter half press. You cannot disable both in the menu.
To disable both you need to turn the body switch from AF-S/AF-C to M, but then you cannot use CIF as the AF has to be "alive" on the camera body for it to work.
Pentax 17-70 SDM and Tamron 90mm Macro lenses tried. Am i missing something in settings. Trying to get CIF to work with the Tamron.
CIF works with a manual focus lens, or an AF lens that has a AF/MF switch on the lens body. It wont work with an AF lens that does not have the switch.

Check that you have enabled CIF in the menu.
shutter button half press set to OFF
I dont have your camera, but looking at a K5II manual online I cannot see how that is possible. The options are "Enable AF" .... both shutter half press and AF button will focus OR "Cancel AF"....... Pressing and holding the AF button will disable the shutter half press focus until the button is released.
