I bought the genuine Pentax one from SRS 2 weeks ago. It works perfect. Received my first Super Tak 55/1.8 today. I coupled the adapter on my K10D, and its such a perfect fit, it almost looks a standard part of my camera. Lens is surprisingly small, but woooooow...,what a combo. Take my advise, buy the real one.

Same with the Taks. People are now paying more for them, as they cost 30 + years ago.
But if you want MF, no better lens to use than a Takumar M42.

Just an example of what a Super Tak 55/1.8 can do connected to the K10D.
Playing with DOF is so much fun

Hi everyone.

I'm interested in exploring the old manual lenses (Ks and M42s), some are said to be really good.
I've been looking at ebay, and at the adverts here. But I'd also like to know if anyone can point me to any shop in Edinburgh or other towns, preferably close by where I can find some old glassy treasures.

BTW, does anyone know where I can find the M42 to K adaptor from Pentax, without ordering from the States? I dont want to spend a lot of money for shipping on something that costs $30.

Cheers

Quiggs in Glasgow is the only second hand dealer in the city and always have lots of ineteresting stuff but their web site is years out of date, I was in Edinburgh last week and driving down the main road south of town through Morningside and spotted a pretty good shop on the west side of the road - Camerabase, 122 Morningside Rd- unfortunately they were closed, probably just as well

SRS sell the genuine Pentax M42 adapter for £19.99
